The process
Every web site project is different, but we follow a simple process to ensure your school’s web site is up-and-running as quickly and efficiently as possible.
When building bilingual or multi-lingual sites, in the first instance we complete construction of the site in just one language first before creating the site in any additional language.
1 – Information gathering and research
You provide us with a some reference photos of your school and an idea of the content you would like to include on your site – we can provide guidance on this. We’ll then produce a site plan, which details all the content that will be required. If you have an existing web site, we can look at this for an indication of the content could also be included in your new site.
2 – Design
Our designers will use your reference photos to produce a unique illustration of your school and will send you a mock-up of your web site design. At this stage, changes and tweaks to the design can be made, if required.
3 – Content creation and build
Once the design has been signed-off, our developers begin to construct your web site. Meanwhile, you gather the content or, if required, we can provide an additional service to write and assemble your content for you. If photos are required, these should be supplied along with your content. Please remember, written consent will be required to use photographs of the children shown on your web site.
4 – Input of content, testing
We’ll input the initial content and provide a link so that you can see your site in action. At this stage, content tweaks can be made. We’ll test the site thoroughly.
5 – Sign-off, multiple languages
Once the site has been signed off, the site can go live! But if your site is to be made available in any additional languages, we’ll now begin construction of the multi-lingual versions of the site. Translations can either be supplied by you, or an additional translation service can be supplied by us.
6 – Go live!
Once signed-off, the site is moved to your new Ontrac hosting account and goes live! We’ll provide a WordPress login to allow you to edit and maintain your web site, and we’ll supply a user guide that gives step-by-step instructions on how to do it. Once live, we’ll begin to monitor your site for WordPress software and security updates, and these will be installed for you.
